Physiotherapist / Athletic Therapist

Rhonda is from Saskatoon, where she danced primarily and tried lots of different sports, but landed on basketball through high school and continued recreationally for over 20 years.

Rhonda holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy, a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, a Diploma in Sport Physiotherapy, is a Registered International Sport Physical Therapist, Certified Athletic Therapist, and High Performance Practitioner. She is a mentor in the

Women in Sport Science leadership program and a mentor for the Sport Physiotherapy Canada Credential program.

Rhonda's dance teacher, Kathy Bond, spoke often about health and wellness and brought health care professionals into the studio to talk to them, which piqued her interest in allied health care professions. She tried out for university basketball, did not make the team, but the head coach knew of her interest in health care and introduced her to the Head Therapist for the university. She began working as a student trainer with basketball, then football—the power of key people in her life growing up, opening doors for her.

As a Physiotherapist and Athletic Therapist at Ignite, Rhonda works with former athletes who want to stay active, people who have found a new favourite activity, people who want to remain active as they age, professional athletes, young athletes with high-performance goals, post-surgery rehabilitation, and any individual—whether they consider themselves athletes or not—who is unable to do the things they love. She has worked with many different sports over the years, stood on many sidelines, and supported many patients in achieving their movement and health goals.

Rhonda is dedicated to unlocking the full potential of athletes and active individuals alike. She blends sport therapy, movement science, and patient-centered communication to support athletes and active individuals in achieving the outcomes that matter most to them—whether that is returning to sport, performing at a higher level, or simply moving through life with more ease. She takes the time to understand what is important to each person, builds a clear and collaborative plan, and creates an environment where patients feel supported, heard, and empowered. She is passionate about helping people feel capable and confident in their bodies, fostering resilience, and guiding them toward the version of performance they choose to define.

Outside the clinic, Rhonda enjoys spending time at the lake, taking in the arts (music, theatre, dance), supporting local sports teams, and keeping active. She enjoys getting on the water with a paddleboard, kayak, and canoe, reading novels, and travelling.
