Physiotherapist
SPC-Cert
Melinda grew up in rural Saskatchewan, where she was fortunate enough to be able to play most sports. She has continued to stay involved in playing broomball competitively.
Melinda holds a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, a Master of Physiotherapy, a Certificate in Sports Physiotherapy (Sport Physio Canada), and Certification in BioMedical Dry Needling (Sport Physio Canada).
Melinda was interested in physiotherapy because she was fascinated by the human body and discovering how it worked. She liked that in physiotherapy, she could help people of all different backgrounds reach their performance and functional goals to return to the activities they loved.
As a Physiotherapist at Ignite, Melinda works with clients from all backgrounds—general population to athletes—of all ages. Her treatment philosophy can be described as problem-solving. She likes to find the deeper cause for pain or dysfunction. As a movement-based physiotherapist, she focuses on giving her patients their own tools to help manage their symptoms. She focuses on individualized treatment programs based on each client's goals, no matter how big or small.
Outside of being a physiotherapist, Melinda enjoys working in her yard, drinking coffee, baking, and watching Canadian football.
