REGISTERED Massage Therapist

Jillian is from Saskatoon, where she was a gymnast when she was young and then began working out for general fitness in high school.

Jillian holds a degree from the University of Saskatchewan in English, a diploma in Fashion Merchandising from Blanche Macdonald Institute of Applied Design in Vancouver, and a Diploma in Massage Therapy from Axiom Career College in Saskatoon. She is certified in Facial Massage and Myofascial Cupping and will be completing her advanced sports massage course in the spring.

Jillian got into Massage Therapy as a career after spending years working for nonprofit organizations where she was primarily involved in fundraising and event management. Being an active and energetic person, she wanted to have a career where she could be engaged physically but also work one-on-one with people in a therapeutic capacity.

As a Registered Massage Therapist at Ignite, Jillian works with pro athletes, university and youth athletes, injury rehab, prehab for sport performance, and the general population. She does not specialize in a particular sport but sees a lot of football, hockey, and baseball players.

Jillian's treatment philosophy is holistic. She sees the body as a continuum, so while one part may be sore or injured at one time, the rest of the body is also affected. In treating soft tissues, she is always treating the nervous system as well, and she hopes that clients will leave every treatment feeling better in body and mind.

Outside the clinic, Jillian has two kids who keep her very busy. They love camping, road tripping, and cooking together. Her daughter is a gymnast, and her son is a skier, so they are always on the go. She loves working out at Ignite, being outside, travelling, cooking and baking, and learning. She has a special interest in continuing education for massage and is always taking new courses.
