STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH
BKin, Masterβs of Kinesiology in Progress
Cam was born and raised in Saskatoon, where he grew up playing everything, but mainly played hockey, baseball, and football. He played football at the university level.
Cam holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Saskatchewan and is currently working on his Master's in Kinesiology at the University of Saskatchewan. He started training to improve at sports when he was around 15 years old, became really interested in the science, technique, and structure of strength and conditioning, went into Kinesiology, trained with the Huskies, and started working at Ignite in 2021.
Cam's role at Ignite is currently flexible. He has worked with everyone from pros all the way to toddlers and is most familiar with contact sports, but has worked with athletes from almost every discipline.
Cam's coaching philosophy focuses on movement. Strength is critical, but the ability to be strong in movement is the key to athleticism and health. Both sport and life are performed in unstructured environments, so the goal is to develop a stable base and then progress into owning our bodies and adding more and more functional capacity.
Outside the gym, Cam coaches a lot of football with the Huskies, Team Saskatchewan, and local minor programs. He works full-time with Football Saskatchewan as Technical Director. He plays recreational sports, including hockey and flag football, spends time at the lake, and golfs a little.
